Cookie Monster

This video makes me smile. For some reason Cookie Monster makes Dan laugh in a way that we rarely hear. Love it!

Dan's grown so much in the past few months! He's running all over the place and becoming more and more social with other little kids. He's getting ready to have a sweet little brother in October!

Summer time!

The weather has been fabulous the past few weeks! We've made our way to the beach numerous times (lately it has been daily) and Dan loves it! We took a bus last week to a small town close to St. Andrews and enjoyed its wonderful beach. It was a bit overcast, but we still had a great time!

Cousins come to visit!!!

Joe's cousins Molly, Laura, Walter and James came to St. Andrews for 2 nights and we had so much fun with them. They are traveling around Europe with a group of friends, so we had the pleasure of meeting all of them and having them in our home as well. Dan was a bit shy at first but he really came out of his shell during their visit. By the time they left he was crying to see them go! We love you guys!

Highland Adventure!

Here we are! Margot has come for a visit and we decided to take a trip up into the Highlands of Scotland. This is my favorite picture of the trip. We are at the castle of Aeleon Donan which is set very close to the entrance of the Isle of Skye. We rented a car and drove to our hearts content. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation and adventure!

Our first destination in the Highlands was Inverness. Our time there was wonderful. Our main activities included a visit to Loch Ness and Joe's former home of Dingwall. Both were so much fun to see.

After our time in Inverness, we made our way to the Isle of Skye. It is known for some of the most magnificent views and scenery in the world. We stayed the night in Kyle of Lochalsh and loved our time there.

Before we left the Isle of Skye, we made our way to Plockton. We happened to catch it on the most beautiful day we had had yet. All I can say is that we enjoyed it to the fullest. Joe and Dan skipped rocks in the water. We were amazed by the way the clouds reflected in the water.

Silly boy!

The other night Dan decided that his diaper covers would make a great hat. He thought this was hilarious and we did too! Just had to capture it on film.

Coastal Path to Fish and Chips!

Last Saturday we took a bus to a small fishing village called St. Monans. It is right on the coast and about 2.5 miles from another fishing village, Anstruther. The coastal path to walk from one to the other is absolutely beautiful! We started our day early with a fish and chips lunch in Anstruther in mind (the restaurant there has received all kinds of awards for their fish and chips). Dan was rearing to go and would have tried to hike himself if we had let him. However, he got so interested in the small ledges in a parking lot that he went back and forth, and back and forth, and....well, you get the idea. So up in the backpack he went not knowing that there were plenty of coastal playgrounds in his future! On our walk, we passed through one other coastal town, Pittenween (love the names here!). Notice all of the colorful homes on the coast. We reached Anstruther just in time for lunch and boy, fish and chips has never tasted so good. We were all exhausted, but had a blast!
